Categories for 2013

The equestrian online community is a varied and diverse bunch. The categories for the 2013 ESMAs reflects this with a range to suit everyone, regardless of discipline or location. Due to high demand his year sees the introduction of a new category for Creative Professionals specialising in the equestrian industry, such as event organisers, photographers and marketers. Three new regional categories have been introduced which reflect the wide range of social media use highlighted in the 2012 ESMAs, these are; Australia and New Zealand, the Benelux and Scandinavia.

It will be up to the public to submit their favourites when the nominations stage opens, in the following categories:

1. Best YouTube channel

2. Best use of Facebook

Open pages and groups only, user profiles may not be nominated

3. Best use of Twitter

Open Twitter accounts only

4. Best Use of Social Media by a Charity

5. Best use of Social Media by a Professional Horseperson

Eventing, Dressage, Show Jumping, Western, Vaulting, Driving, Polo, Natural Horsemanship, Racing

6. Best Use of Social Media by an Amateur Horseperson

The category winner will recieve a free place on a Hippikos training Programme (Intensive Training in Dressage or Jumping or Both). The training week includes 3 lessons a day on advanced horses (dressage to Grand Prix and jumping to 1.45m), all accommodation, meals and drinks.

7. Best use of Social Media by a Feed Company

Covering all aspects of horse feed, supplements, forage and treats

8. Best use of Social Media by a Publication

Print or online

9. Best Use of Social Media by a Horse Attire Brand

10. Best Use of Social Media by a Rider Attire Brand

11. Best Use of Social Media by an Event or Competition

12. Best Talking Animal

13. Most Informative Use of Social Media

14. Best Use of Social Media by a Riding School

15. Best use of Social Media by a Saddlery or Tack Shop

Open to online, brick and mortar or mobile stores offering a variety of brands

16. Best Newcomer

For those who have joined the social world since the opening of the previous year's ESMAs

The winner will receive: 12 months banner advertising on Equine Online, publicity in an official Equine Online press release, a mention in the March edition of the Equine Online monthly newsletter. Total value £750+

17. Best Blog

Can be one blogger or a group of bloggers using a single platform

The winning blog will be given the chance to earn a yearlong extra bonus commission in EquiRex's online affiliate programme.

18. Best Equestrian Social Network

Equestrian related social networking site/forum

19. Best Broadcast Media

TV channel, online, radio etc.

20. Creative Equestrians

Creative professionals within the equestrian industry e.g. photographers, artists, designers etc.

The category winner will receive a free Equestrian Creative Network portfolio for a year.

21. Best use of Social Media by a Celebrity

Different to the professional rider category, this ESMA celebrates mainstream celebrities who promote equestrianism to a wider audience through social media

22. FEI Solidarity Award

Open to equestrian development projects that are at the heart of grass roots development of equestrian sport and welfare projects. This can be a local sports programme, individual rider/coach or an online community, educational project or welfare campaign that has captured the interest and conversations of the development of the sport in a creative and inclusive manner.
